Dania Pulido
My name is Dania Yamel Pulido and I am an English Communication Arts major. I am a sophomore and am originally from South Texas, better known as the Valley. I was born in the United States, but received my Mexican citizenship and lived in Mexico until I was five. I live seven minutes from the Mexican-American border and my parents as well as several other relatives own businesses in Mexico. I danced ballet since age two and stopped at age seventeen. I am two belts away from receiving a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, but I quit when I was twelve. I was also in gymnastics, swimming, cheerleading, softball, and piano lessons for a period of time. I speak conversational Portuguese. I won Best Actress as a Freshman in high school. I have one little brother who I am extremely close to, and a pet Yorkie named Famous, named after Audrey Hepburnās Yorkshire Terrier, whom I am completely obsessed with. I also thoroughly enjoy art but cannot draw a stick figure to save my life. I was first runner-up in the Miss Weslaco pageant (my hometown) and have two tattoos. I believe in God and attend a Bible study every Tuesday night. I am a Commentary and sometimes Features contributing writer for The Rattler. I enjoy reading and writing poetry. My favorite is Maya Angelou followed by Langston Hughes. I am a huge fan of Sandra Cisneros and her works, and recently met her at a book signing. Every other phrase out of my mouth is a line from a movie. I am a quote freak and have a whole book of my favorites. I collect journals. I still believe good will always prevail, & have not lost faith in mankind. I am a Star Wars geek and hate romance movies. I hope to attend law school when I graduate, but am also looking into public relations or publishing.
And if none of that works out, I will be happy waitressing in New York City for the rest of my life.
